HEARTLESS ASSASSINATION OF OUR SHOP STEWARD COMRADE SANELE MSIBI
We have learnt with great shock and sadness about the brutal unjustified well planned murder of our shop steward and leader comrade Sanele Msibi.
Comrade Sanele worked for a cleaning company called Mntungwa & Mngwezana based in Ermelo, Camden power station, Mpumalanga Province.
Comrade Sanele Msibi was killed on Thursday 07 April 2016 at about 01h00 AM with a hail of 13 bullets at his place of residence at Ermelo, he died on the scene. We have no doubt in our minds that his death is directly related to his role as the shop steward of DETAWU. We can say without any slightest doubt in our minds that his death was a hit.
We are not thumb sucking, Comrade Sanele made mention of this himself on the day before his ultimate death.
We call upon the Police to do all possible to get the perpetrator/s into books and allow the justice to take its course.
We shall exert an enormous amount of pressure to the Provincial commissioner of police in Mpumalanga to ensure that this matter is given the priority it deserves and push that it be handed to the provincial task team of investigators.
We call upon all our members throughout the country to remain calm but vigilant at all the times, the enemy is on the run.
No amount of provocation should be allowed to supersede our central revolutionary assignment of building the trade union.
We extend our heartfelt deepest condolences to his family, friends, colleagues and all our members in Mpumalanga Province and the country at large during this time of bereavement. Your loss is our loss too.
Out of comrade Sanele’s death we should gain more strength and be more determined to advance the working class struggle and to improve our members living and working conditions.
His death strikes at a time when the union is gearing itself towards a Provincial Congress in Mpumalanga in June/July this year, 2016. In honor of comrade Sanele this mission shall be accomplished at all cost, we dare don’t fail him.
We are sure that comrade Sanele would be happy to see a strong, fighting and independent DETAWU.
Comrade Sanele was a tireless hard working cadre in building our young trade union in the area of Ermelo and the Province of Mpumalanga. His contributions shall forever be remembered.
May his eternal revolutionary soul rest in peace.
